your big day is almost here!

beauty Prep guide

My mission is for you to be a stress-free, naturally glowing, happy Bride, especially on the morning of your wedding. I would love to have this part of your day smooth, easy flowing and for you to enjoy the special moments shared with your bridal party. Here are some of beauty tips and reminders that I would love to share with you — and you can share this with your bridesmaids, too!

on your Wedding Day

The goal is for YOU to be the HIGHLIGHT of the event.

  • Please have all bridesmaids ready (or at least 2-3 and available to begin at designated start time. If this isn’t applicable, have them arrive 5-10 mins before their scheduled beauty time.

  • Everyone should arrive with clean face, no makeup and no SPF greater than 15 (most SPFs can cause flashback on photos). A gentle cleanser and facial moisturizer is preferred. Exfoliate lips and moisturize if lips tends to be dry or chapped. Please remember that arriving with makeup on or any leftover makeup can cause significant delay in the schedule.

  • Please arrive with CLEAN, DRY hair. "Day after", air-dried or/or blown-out straight hair with a round brush is highly preferred.

  • Each service will take approximately 45minutes to 1 hr. It may vary depending on hair length &/or makeup style. Please make sure the bridal party is aware of their appointed time slot.

  • The Bride is scheduled for one hour per service (2 - 2.5 hours for Makeup & Hair). This is to ensure no details are left behind, and that Bride is pampered and not rushed.

  • Please encourage your bridesmaids to have sample photo of how they would like their hair/makeup done ( or how you - the Bride -would like to have their hair and makeup done). This eliminates delays, creates a cohesive look among the bridal party and ensures artist has clear vision of what the look for the bridal party would be.

  • It is extremely helpful to wear a button-down or a silky robe. You definitely would not want to deal with pulling a shirt over your picture-perfect hair and makeup.

  • If you are opting to use clip-in hair extensions, please have them clean, dry, brushed out and ready for installation. Use a hair extension hanger or lay them out to avoid tangles.

  • Have your hairpieces or hair jewelry handy as well.

this is good to know…

stay hydrated and use sunscreen + more

and a few more tips for you below.

  • Be aware that facials, chemical peels and other aesthetic services can cause reactions. It is best to receive non-invasive services two to four weeks prior to your wedding date, unless there are regular services you know that your skin agrees with.

  • Waxing services(facial, eyebrows & body) can cause redness, bumps and peeling. It is suggested that waxing services are done minimum of 4 days prior to wedding date.

  • Spray tans usually looks the most natural 2-3 days after it has been applied. Please consider this when scheduling any tanning services prior to your wedding date. Getting it done 2-3 days prior to your day will give the tan enough time to fully develop and settle into your skin for that bronze-y finish. Getting it too close you your big day can result in unwanted streaks and little time for correction.

  • Lash extensions &/or fills would be best done 2-3 days prior the day of event -- only if you get them regularly. If having them done for first time, please allow a month or two of having them on just to make sure you are comfortable with it and no allergic reactions occurs.

the Hair and Makeup Set-up

Artist will arrive 15-30 minutes prior start time. Please ensure that there is a clean space, a table or two and chair (for hair services) for artist/s to set-up. Near adequate & natural light (like a window) is best and access to electrical outlet is needed. Artist/s will arrive with a pro makeup chair and will use pro lighting equipment (if needed).
